QR code not working
If your phone can’t scan or recognise the evwala eSIM QR code, here’s what to try.
Step 1: Clean your camera lens
Section titled “Step 1: Clean your camera lens”A smudged lens can prevent your phone from reading the QR code. Give it a wipe.
Step 2: Adjust lighting and distance
Section titled “Step 2: Adjust lighting and distance”- Make sure the QR code is well-lit (avoid glare on screens).
- Hold your phone about 15-20cm from the QR code.
- Make sure the entire QR code is within the camera frame.
Step 3: Scan from the correct place
Section titled “Step 3: Scan from the correct place”Don’t use a generic QR code scanner app. Use your phone’s eSIM settings:
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code
- Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Download a SIM instead
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR code
Step 4: Scanning from the same device?
Section titled “Step 4: Scanning from the same device?”If the QR code is displayed on the same phone you’re trying to install it on, you can’t use the camera. Instead:
- iPhone: Press and hold the QR code image in WhatsApp → Open in Settings.
- Android/Samsung: Take a screenshot of the QR code, then use the “Scan from image” option in your eSIM settings.
Step 5: Check QR code validity
Section titled “Step 5: Check QR code validity”Each QR code can only be used once. If you’ve already scanned it (even if installation failed), it may be expired.
