eSIM won't install
If your phone recognises the QR code but the eSIM fails to install, try these steps.
Step 1: Check your internet connection
Section titled “Step 1: Check your internet connection”You need an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to download the eSIM profile. Make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi.
Step 2: Check for carrier lock
Section titled “Step 2: Check for carrier lock”Some phones purchased through a carrier on a contract are locked and may not accept third-party eSIMs. Contact your carrier to check if eSIM is unlocked on your device.
Step 3: Check eSIM storage
Section titled “Step 3: Check eSIM storage”Your phone can only hold a limited number of eSIM profiles (typically 5-10). If you’ve reached the limit, delete an unused eSIM to make room. See Delete an eSIM.
Step 4: Restart and retry
Section titled “Step 4: Restart and retry”- Restart your phone.
- Try scanning the QR code again.
Step 5: Check for software updates
Section titled “Step 5: Check for software updates”Make sure your phone is running the latest software:
- iPhone: Settings → General → Software Update
- Android/Samsung: Settings → Software Update (or System → System Update)
