eSIM won't install

If your phone recognises the QR code but the eSIM fails to install, try these steps.

You need an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to download the eSIM profile. Make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi.

Some phones purchased through a carrier on a contract are locked and may not accept third-party eSIMs. Contact your carrier to check if eSIM is unlocked on your device.

Your phone can only hold a limited number of eSIM profiles (typically 5-10). If you’ve reached the limit, delete an unused eSIM to make room. See Delete an eSIM.

  1. Restart your phone.
  2. Try scanning the QR code again.

Make sure your phone is running the latest software:

  • iPhone: Settings → General → Software Update
  • Android/Samsung: Settings → Software Update (or System → System Update)
