Activate your eSIM

Once your eSIM is installed, you need to enable it and turn on data roaming.

Steps

1. Enable the eSIM line:

   • iPhone: Go to Settings → Cellular and make sure your evwala eSIM is toggled on.
   • Android/Samsung: Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs (or Settings → Connections → SIM Manager) and toggle on the evwala eSIM.

2. Set it as the data line:

   • iPhone: Go to Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data and select your evwala eSIM.
   • Android/Samsung: Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Mobile data and select the evwala eSIM.

3. Turn on Data Roaming:

   • iPhone: Go to Settings → Cellular, tap your evwala eSIM, and toggle Data Roaming on.
   • Android: Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs, tap the evwala eSIM, and toggle Roaming on.
   • Samsung: Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks and toggle Data Roaming on.

4. Wait a few seconds. Your phone will connect to the local network. You should see signal bars or a network name appear in the status bar.

Data Roaming must be on

Your evwala eSIM is a travel data plan — it only works when Data Roaming is enabled. This won’t incur extra charges from your home carrier since data flows through the evwala eSIM, not your physical SIM.

Install before you travel

You can install your eSIM at home over Wi-Fi. It won’t use data or incur charges until you arrive at your destination and enable it.
